About the event
MPG members, Beckview Studios in Scarborough, will be hosting a Masterclass in recording to Analogues Tape on both 14th and 15th March 2025. Utilising the studio's pristine condition MCI JH-24 2" tape 4 track machine, in house studio engineer, Chris Jones, alongside BBC trained studio support engineer Iain Betson from Reel Resilience, will take you through the demystifying processes of using tape in a session during these two all day events.
The days will focus on artistic considerations and operations. And will cover topics Including:
An overview of tape and the tape-recording process
Selecting a tape type for your machine
Setting the tape and the recorder up for a session
